Kit Mun (B. Eng. NUS/NTI) enjoys taking photos of nephews and nieces during family gatherings. Not least because his retirement plan involves selling the photos back to them after they have grown up.

In his youth he was addicted to available-light photography using ISO 400 negatives and large-aperture prime lenses (especially a 35mm f1.4). He has mellowed in middle age and now appreciates the flexibility of modern super-zooms, and has even been known to use flash on occasion.

He has used instamatic (Kodak), rangefinder (XA), fully manual SLR (FX3, FM10, FM2) and auto everything SLR (F801s) 35mm film cameras. Digital photography first sang its siren song to him in 1998, when he used an FD91 to capture 1024x768 pixel images on a 1.44 megabyte floppy disk (this was before practical digital SLRs were available).

Current digital SLRs now provide him with the image quality of film; together with the cost, convenience, colour control and ease of editing of digital. Stabilised lenses, low-noise high-ISO digital image sensors, is just icing on the cake.

Leisure reading and some life experience has convinced him to Keep It Simple wherever possible. This applies to life, family, work, health, relationships, web design and photography.
